About Our Link Validation Scanner
We run automated link checks to help site owners find broken links and improve visitor experience. This includes links on our clients’ sites that are not part of their site.
If You Hired Us
We crawl the URLs you provide, collect the links found on those pages, and generate a report of links that appear working vs. problematic (including redirects).
If Your Site Is Being Checked
Your pages may be requested because they are linked from a site we are validating.
- We only request public pages
- We rate limit our requests to be respectful.
- We do not review or store the content of the page ever.
- We are only validating that the link itself works including following redirect rules.
We are purely notifying our clients of the link status of their own content that points to outside sites.
Our user agent is: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; PurrlyDigitalLinkValidation/1.0; +https://www.purrlydigital.com/services/link-check)
We include a monitored email inbox in a From header
We are generally RFC 9110 & 9309 compliant.
How The Check Works
- We try a normal, non-JavaScript HTTP check first.
- If a link fails, we may retry it in a JavaScript-capable browser to handle sites that require client-side rendering.
